"If this is the first time you heard Basehead's name, it will surely
not be your last. Based out of northern California, Basehead aka Grat
Bodkin has caught the attention of quite a few people over the last year
when he initially began releasing music. His first release came out
just months after he began producing electronic music on Mizumo Music,
and since then, his sound has evolved so significantly and quickly, that
his fast rising has been virtually inevitable.
While his music
can be loosely confined as filthy complex electro and breakbeats,
Basehead sticks to no boundaries as he tends to slice up his tracks with
tempo changes, adding elements of dubstep and glitch-hop. Gutter level
filthiness saturates his complex sawtooth basslines, inner-laced with a
mature musical element giving his songs emotion, and when combined with
the attitude filled vocals and catchy melodies of resident vocalist
Cliff Tomlin, the sound produced is one that most can't deny moving to.
2012 is projected to be a huge year for this artist, with releases
planned on hard-hitting labels such as Bugeyed Records and Elektroshok
Records. Releases from these labels feature many tracks from artists
such as Dirtyloud, Ftampa, Bioblitz, Felguk, The Destroyers, Guau, Utku
S., and many more. Projects for 2012 currently finished or in progress
include multiple genre releases of a wide bpm range of everything from
drumstep to filthy electro, as Basehead continues to push the limits
from his laboratory.
