STAMINA PRESENTS SEBA AND STEREOTYPE

  • On July 22nd 2012 Stamina is proud to present a night of top shelf deep Drum & Bass vibes featuring...

SEBA (Secret Operations, Good Looking, Metalheadz, Soul:r, Hospital - Sweden)

Swedish producer Sebastian Ahrenberg has established a reputation as one of the finest purveyors of quality drum & bass over a distinguished career stretching back over 15 years. From his early tracks on LTJ Bukem’s ground-breaking label Good Looking Records to his more recent work across labels including Metalheadz, Soul:r, Hospital and his own Secret Operations Seba's music has retained a timeless appeal and brings together beats and bass in classic yet inimitable style.

Originating from Ingaro, an island just outside Stockholm, Sebastian Ahrenberg started producing in the early 90s. Working with a basic home studio, he experimented with breakbeats and techno before finding his own unique style in drum and bass. Seba’s track 'Sonic Winds', written together with Lotek, was among his first drum and bass productions to be released, and was selected by label boss LTJ Bukem for his Logical Progression mix cd series. Further releases soon followed, from the sublime and soulful ‘Planetary Funk Alert’ to the rich and ethereal ‘Valley of the Moomins’, and marked Seba as one of the finest exponents of an emerging new style

Seba considers himself more of a musician than a DJ. He puts his music in focus, and uses DJ’ing as a way of presenting his own productions blended with other artists. His philosophy is that the promoters book him because they like what he does, not because he has the latest unreleased tracks in his bag. Be prepared to experience a DJ set with at least 70-80% of Seba’s finest productions.

Stereotype (Westbay, Phuzion Digital, Intrigue, Sublife, Stank Love - Miami)

Hailing from Miami and of Colombian descent, Stereotype has been soaking up a cross section of musical influences such as Bass, Salsa, Soul, Reggae, Cumbia, Hip Hop, and beyond from an early age. His first record purchase was titled "Gucci Bass" by the Gucci Crew 2 and so it's no surprise that he can be found most days in his Downtown Miami studio crafting out a barrage of stylish, elegant, bass heavy tunes. In 2009 he founded the staple D&B monthly event in Miami Beach known as Stank Love, along with his partner in crime Sopheye. For the last 3 years he has shaken dancefloors alongside some of the biggest names in the scene and the night has become a must for any D&B enthusiast during the Winter Music Conference in Miami. His tunes have played on BBC RADIO 1, across Bassdrive.com and had support from the likes of Fabio, A-Sides, Silver, Atlantic Connection, Random Movement and many more. 2012 has seen him re dedicate himself to the studio and he's already locked down releases forthcoming on Phuzion Digital and Intrigue.

Method One (Levitated Records, Auxiliary, 31 Recs - SF)

In the nearly 20 years since he first started experimenting with sampled loops, Jason Leder aka Method One has become one of the elder statesmen of the American drum & bass scene. As a dj, he has honed his craft through hundreds of gigs stretching back to the early nineties. As a musician, he is responsible for numerous releases and remixes on labels such as Auxiliary, 31 Records, Levitated, Secret Operations, Outsider, Vampire, Covert Operations, Vibez, Red Mist, Offworld, Nexus (Good Looking), Testflight, Elektra/Warner Brothers and more. Jason is a managing partner of Levitated Recordings and lives in San Francisco, California.
