Well, its been an interesting 6 years so far for Mixed Signals Music from our start up days witnessing the end of vinyl as the popular standard for releasing music to the popularity of the mp3 as the medium of choice for the delivery of music.
During this time we have managed to go with the flow, easing into the digital age with releases by Jovonn, King Sunshine, Eskalation featuring Sacha Williamson, Gene King, Andy Roberts, Motivacao, Stephane Vera, Alton Miller and the legendary Roy Davis jr.
In the near future you will see a lot of local Canadian talent on the roster, as the talent level here begins to rival that on the international stage. Newcomers such as Jazzmattik, Derek Codlin, Vinny Groovehunter, Vince Vega and Reagan Grey will help solidify the Labels legacy as one of Canadas top House Music record Labels. With upcoming releases and remixes by well known Canadians such as Gene King, Jason B., King Sunshine, Rise Ashen, Stephane Vera, and Andy Roberts, and releases by international house music luminaries such as our great friend Alton Miller (Album), Boddhi Satva (collab with Jazzmattik), Gene Hunt, Dave Harness, Dj Pope, Abicah Sole, and Jovonn, there will be no stopping us. With a new Pressing and Distribution deal in the works, you will also see Mixed Signals product back on vinyl.
Events:
Locally, in Toronto, which we at Mixed Signals Music view as one of the more vibrant scenes in North America, MSM has been a part of House Music's resurgence here, beginning with our 65 elm st events, and continuing with our Deep End Events Series as well as our Long Weekend Events @ Mod Club working with most of Toronto's event promotion companies. While this was fun (and stressful) this past year, we decided to take a step back from producing big events to focus on the music and the results have been well worth it.
For our 6 year anniversary, we have invited one of our favorite producers/dj's and good friend Roy Davis jr to grace the decks alongside label boss Andy Roberts, and MSM newcomer Derek Codlin. The venue is called Our House, a small intimate 150 person venue that has already seen a slew of talent pass through its doors. If you have enjoyed our music and events over the past 6 years, please make a point to come by and help us celebrate.
