In a shower of silver confetti, another all-out, all-night party on the first day of the new year at Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas raised the bar for Las Vegas nightlife.
Marquee's roster of resident DJs already has fans flocking to the 60,000 square foot, multi-level venue, proving electronic dance music has definitely found its new home inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Following s spell-blinding set from Erick Morillo on New Year’s Eve until 9AM the next day, chart-topping DJ/producer Kaskade kept Marquee’s opening weekend celebration going strong Saturday night with the crowds—and celebs including Kirsten Dunst, Deryck Whibley, Mark Salling and Wilmer Valderrama—coming back for more.
The EC Twins warmed up the main room before the lights dimmed at 1AM and Kaskade’s recognizable multi-colored logo emblazoned across Marquee's 40-foot LED visuals wall courtesy of the talented team at V Squared Labs. Cheers welcomed Kaskade to the DJ booth—as did the aforementioned confetti—and fans clamored to get as close to the stage as possible.
From Kaskade’s latest single, “Fire in Your New Shoes,” to the hit Deadmau5 collaboration “I Remember” plus a complete range of floor-fillers, the crowd even joined him in a venue-wide sing-a-long when he dropped “Angel on My Shoulder.” The vibe at Marquee is enhanced beyond anything the Las Vegas Strip has ever seen thanks to unique experiences created for each resident headliner. For Kaskade’s set, ethereal costumed performers in jewels, white tulle tutus and hot pink toe shoes were added to the mix of already intriguing go-go dancers and proved Marquee is poised to incorporate festival-level production values into every show and elevate Las Vegas nightlife. DJ sightings include: Paul Oakenfold, Afrojack and Omarion, who all made it a point to stop by and scope out the sounds and sights of the new nightclub.
As magnums of Cristal Champagne and Grey Goose were flowing, the party kept going, as did Kaskade. Having such a great time playing for the sold-out capacity crowd at Marquee, he extended his set until 8:30AM in the morning, missed his flight and kept the house music going all night long for an insatiable crowd. “I just wrapped it up at @MarqueeLV after a 7.5 hour set,” said Kaskade via Twitter. “You get the idea, crazy ballz! Best day of 2011.”
