Lightning in a Bottle Reveals New Temple of Consciousness with Music Lineup, Healing Sanctuary and More!

March 6, 2015 - by Molly Sinclair

As we count down the weeks until May, Lightning in a Bottle continues to reveal epic changes to their 4-day music and arts festival, which keeps growing rapidly every year.

Besides the killer music, art, and camping that takes place at the eco-friendly festival in Northern California, LIB features one stand-out area that is unmatched at any other festival: The Lucent Temple of Consciousness.

The Temple is known as a sacred refuge in the midst of a festival that also caters to partygoers dancing until the crack of dawn. In the Temple, festival promoter The Do Lab wants visitors to "deepen our understanding of self, science, ecology and phenomena as well as honoring our connection to spirit, to mother earth, and to all our relations".

So what does this really mean, and what can we expect in 2015? Read on below, and remember, this is only one area of the diverse 4-day festival!

Healing Sanctuary

This year, LIB has expanded their Healing Sanctuary, a space where you can "mend, learn, explore, and full experience the stillness within yourself." The bigger area will feature body workers, astrologers, one of the few living Mayan Oracles, energy practicioners, an elixir and tonic bar, and a small workshop stage. In other words, if you're looking to go out-of-this-world by looking inward, than the Healing Sanctuary will be a ethereal experience.

Ecstatic Dance

Ecstatic dance is exactly what it sounds - a growing movement in the Temple where your dance comes alive. If you've never tried it, then head to the Yoga Om tent to experience longer DJ sets, later hours and dance instructors to activate your spirit and break away from conforming boundaries!

New Music Lineup

The Temple is home to a special lineup including everything from Deep House to Reggae. While you relax in the Temple, the following artists will open your ears and let your heart soar. The beautiful sounds of Mia Doi Todd, the pulsating beats of Marques Wyatt, and powerful vocals by Beautiful Chorus will light up your senses... and many more. Be sure to check out Reggae Sunday!

Learning Kitchen

So you're ready to move your feet, open your ears and expand your mind - but what about cleansing your diet? The Temple does not ignore one of the most important aspects of feeding your soul, which is feeding your body! This year, the Learning Kitchen is bigger than ever, so that there is plenty of room for everyone to attend these tasty kitchen workshops. In the Learning Kitchen you will enjoy nutritional education, watch a vegetarian cooking class, try superfoods, and more. Yum!

Overall, Lightning in a Bottle does a stupendous job of teaching, healing, and entertaining, in a way that you can bring this knowledge home and apply it in your every day life, beyond the gates of the festival. There is much more to the Temple, so if you would like to read more, check out the Lightning in a Bottle website here.

Tickets are still available for the event Memorial Day Weekend at this link, and camping is included!
